Conference “Co-creating Erasmus+ and the European Solidarity Corps”

6 PM Brussels (BE) Private concert STUDENTS SELECTION ENDED

The Erasmus Orchestra performed in Brussels on January 28 at 6 pm. The event took place at the ULB Auditorium – Université Libre de Bruxelles on Avenue Adolphe Buyl, 87 and was part of the European conference organized by the Commission “Co-creating Erasmus+ and the European Solidarity Corps”, scheduled at ULB on January 28 and 29 in Brussels. For this performance, fifty musicians from twenty Italian Conservatories and music institutes were selected. It was a unique musical ensemble, composed of students who had completed or were completing an international Erasmus mobility experience. The Erasmus Orchestra was conducted by Maestro Elio Orciuolo, a professor at the Conservatory of Monopoli “N. Rota”. The concert program included music by Mozart, Rossini, Donizetti, Verdi, Bizet, and Puccini.

The Erasmus Orchestra was established in 2017 on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Erasmus, on the initiative of the National Erasmus+ Indire Agency. The musical formation promoted the values of the Erasmus Generation – open, dynamic, and supportive – and of Europe, using music as a metaphor for integration, meeting, and skill development beyond any linguistic, geographical, and cultural barrier.
