As part of the international seminar TCA Erasmus+ (Training Cooperation Activity) titled “Exploring Networks Across Sectors and Establishing A European Community,” which took place in Lisbon from October 31st to November 3rd, 2024, a special event was organized: a free concert by the Erasmus Orchestra.

The concert took place on November 2nd, 2024, at 5:00 PM (local time) at the auditorium of the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa and was organized by the Italian Erasmus+ National Agency INDIRE in collaboration with the Portuguese Erasmus+ National Agency.

This unique performance featured young talents from over 30 European conservatories, along with students from the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa. The Erasmus Orchestra exemplified intercultural collaboration, uniting musicians who had benefited from the Erasmus program. This initiative allowed them to share and enhance their musical experiences across diverse cultures and traditions.

The Erasmus Orchestra was more than just a musical ensemble—it was a powerful symbol of European integration and the Erasmus+ Programme’s mission to foster social cohesion through art and culture. The Orchestra’s repertoire included a variety of pieces, from classical European masterpieces to contemporary works, offering the audience a rich and unique cultural experience.

The Erasmus Orchestra was founded in 2017 on the initiative of the Italian Erasmus+ National Agency INDIRE and was extended to an international level in 2023 thanks to the collaboration with AEC – European Association of Conservatoires.

This concert was part of the PEACE LTA (Participation Erasmus Alumni for Civic Engagement) project, coordinated by the Erasmus+ INDIRE National Agency. The PEACE project aimed to strengthen active participation in democratic life and build a united and inclusive European community. The seminar combined in-depth discussions with group training activities to raise awareness of the opportunities Europe offers to young people.
