Christmas is PEACE

7 PM Naples (IT) Public concert STUDENTS SELECTION ENDED

The Erasmus Orchestra returned to perform on December 19, 2022, in Naples, on the occasion of the Erasmus+ International Seminar “P.E.A.C.E. ‘Erasmus+ contribution to European civic participation'” with the concert “Christmas is Peace.”

The event, scheduled for 7:00 PM in the Scarlatti Hall of the “San Pietro a Majella” Conservatory in Naples, was organized by the Erasmus+ Indire National Agency. Musicians from over twenty Italian conservatories who had completed or were in the process of completing an Erasmus international mobility experience in the Higher Artistic and Musical Education (AFAM) sector were selected for the concert. The program was very diverse, ranging from the most classical arias by Mozart, Donizetti, Bizet, and Puccini to famous Christmas songs such as “White Christmas” and “Silent Night,” with the addition of some surprises. The Orchestra was conducted by Maestro Elio Orciuolo, a professor at the “N. Rota” Conservatory of Monopoli.

The performance was part of the collateral initiatives planned for the “P.E.A.C.E.” Seminar, which aimed to create synergy among various actors active in the Erasmus+ Program at the European level: School Ambassadors, representatives from the adult education sector, Role Models, and Higher Education Alumni (more info on the “PEACE” initiative).

The Erasmus Orchestra is a unique musical ensemble with the goal of promoting the values of the Erasmus Generation—open, dynamic, and supportive—and those of Europe, using music as a metaphor for integration, encounter, and skill development beyond any cultural and national barriers.

Participation in the concert was free upon registration, subject to availability.
