About the EO
The Erasmus Orchestra (EO) is the first orchestra composed of Erasmus students from European Conservatoires and Music Institutes.
Supported since 2023 by the Association Européenne des Conservatoires, Académies de Musique et Musikhochschulen (AEC), the Orchestra has further enhanced its role as a flagship cultural and promotional initiative of the Erasmus+ Programme.
EO objectives
The Erasmus Orchestra (EO) seeks to embody and promote the essence of the Erasmus Generation, using music as a metaphor for integration, collaboration, and the development of skills beyond linguistic, geographical, and cultural boundaries.
Music, as a universal language, unites people, creates harmony, and builds bridges between cultures. The EO reflects these values, celebrating diversity, reinforcing a shared sense of belonging, and serving as a tangible symbol of the European Union.
Within this framework, young musicians become true “Ambassadors of European Citizenship”, spreading the values of democracy, dialogue, active participation, and peace among peoples and nations.
At the same time, the EO aims to:
-
promote the wide range of training and mobility opportunities offered by Erasmus+ in the field of Higher Education for Art, Music, and Dance;
-
enhance the talents and excellence of European Conservatoires and Music Institutes;
-
foster collaborations and partnerships that support internationalization among participating organizations;
-
provide young musicians with high-level training and professional experiences.
