Il 10 aprile alle 19, presso l’Auditorium Maximum Theater di Cluj-Napoca, Romania, l’Orchestra Erasmus terrà un concerto speciale a ingresso gratuito. L’evento è organizzato dall’Agenzia nazionale Erasmus+ Romania in collaborazione con l’Accademia Nazionale di Musica “Gheorghe Dima” e l’Università Babeș-Bolyai di Cluj-Napoca.
Questo evento musicale celebra i valori di collaborazione, cultura e partecipazione al centro dell’iniziativa “PEACE” – Participation Erasmus Alumni for Civic Engagement, che negli stessi giorni, sempre nella località rumena, vedrà l’organizzazione del seminario transnazionale “Participation in civic engagement and Green actions” per condividere le migliori pratiche relative all’impegno civico, alla vita democratica e alla sostenibilità ambientale, temi prioritari del programma Erasmus+ 2021-2027.
Il programma musicale del concerto spazierà da compositori della tradizione operistica italiana, come Puccini, Mascagni e Donizetti, fino a compositori locali come Bartók e Dimitrescu. L’Orchestra Erasmus sarà composta da oltre 50 studenti provenienti da circa 30 Conservatori europei e sarà diretta dal Maestro Elio Orciuolo.

Cos’è l’Orchestra Erasmus?
Fondata nel 2017 dall’Agenzia Nazionale Erasmus+ INDIRE, l’Orchestra Erasmus è la prima orchestra composta da studenti Erasmus provenienti dai Conservatori e Istituti Musicali europei. L’Orchestra rappresenta un simbolo di unità, collaborazione e valori europei.
Dal 2023, l’Orchestra è supportata dall’Associazione Européenne des Conservatoires (AEC).
L’iniziativa ha un forte valore simbolico e mira a diffondere i valori della “Generazione Erasmus” – aperta, dinamica e solidale – e dell’Europa, utilizzando la musica come metafora di integrazione, incontro e sviluppo di competenze oltre le barriere linguistiche, geografiche e culturali.
L’Orchestra Erasmus ha anche l’obiettivo di promuovere le opportunità di formazione e mobilità Erasmus+ per gli studenti del settore AFAM, contribuendo a valorizzare i talenti e le eccellenze dei Conservatori e Istituti Musicali europei. Ciò include la promozione di collaborazioni e partnership che offrano opportunità di internazionalizzazione ed esperienze professionali per i giovani musicisti.

Erasmus Orchestra to perform in Romania to celebrate civic engagement, democracy and sustainability
On April 10 (7 PM), at the Auditorium Maximum Theater in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, the Erasmus Orchestra will perform a special free concert. The event is organized by the Erasmus+ Romanian National Agency in collaboration with the “Gheorghe Dima” National Music Academy and Babeș-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca.
This musical event celebrates the values of collaboration, culture, and participation at the heart of the “PEACE” – Participation Erasmus Alumni for Civic Engagement initiative. During the same days, in the Romanian city, the transnational seminar “Participation in civic engagement and Green actions” will take place, providing a platform to share best practices related to civic engagement, democratic life, and environmental sustainability—key priorities of the Erasmus+ 2021-2027 programme.
The musical programme will include works by renowned composers from the Italian operatic tradition, such as Puccini, Mascagni, and Donizetti, as well as local composers like Bartók and Dimitrescu. The Erasmus Orchestra will be composed of over 50 students from approximately 30 European conservatories. The Orchestra will be coducted by Maestro Elio Orciuolo.

What is the Erasmus Orchestra?
Founded in 2017 by the Erasmus+ National Agency INDIRE, the Erasmus Orchestra (EO) is the first orchestra composed of Erasmus students from European Conservatories and Music Institutes. The Orchestra serves as a symbol of unity, collaboration, and European values.
Since 2023, the Erasmus Orchestra has been supported by the Association Européenne des Conservatoires (AEC).
The initiative holds symbolic significance and aims to spread the values of the “Erasmus Generation” – open, dynamic, and supportive – and of Europe, using music as a metaphor for integration, meeting, and the development of skills beyond linguistic, geographic, and cultural barriers.
The Orchestra also aims to promote the many Erasmus+ training and mobility opportunities for students in the Higher Education Artistic and Musical sector, contributing to enhancing the talents and excellence of European Conservatories and Musical Institutes. This involves promoting collaborations and partnerships that offer opportunities for internationalization and professional experiences for young musicians.
