PEACE doubles up and becomes PEACE+. A close cooperation between 21 Erasmus+ National Agencies, a "plus" to foster young people's understanding of European values and make them aware of the benefits of EU membership, also thanks to good practices from the territories
A new phase, involving even more partners, for a strong and widespread message in the European Union and its local communities. The PEACE project, an acronym for Participation Erasmus Alumni for Civic Engagement, born to foster synergies among the Erasmus+ Alumni, Ambassadors and Role Model networks in all the areas of the Programme, grows and continues its journey until 2027 under the name PEACE+, putting in place four lines of action common to all the Erasmus+ National Agencies: Networks, Training, Communication and ScientificResearch.
What are the new objectives of PEACE+?
Now, the primary objective is to improve young people and students’ understanding of European values, but also to raise awareness of the benefits of EU membership for citizens, while promoting greater civic engagement and democratic participation, which are essential and vital not only for the future of Erasmus+, but also of the European Union itself. The aim of the PEACE+ project is to reach out to hesitant people and inspire young people to take an active role in the democratic life of the Union, while also providing concrete examples of good practices of participation and positive outcomes for citizens.
PEACE+ doubles up with collaboration between 21 Erasmus+ National Agencies
Under the motto Empowering citizens, shaping Europe, the second and new phase of the Long-Term Activities (LTA) project continues to be coordinated by the Erasmus+ National Agency INDIRE, but now brings together 21 Erasmus+ National Agencies, double the 11 that participated in the first phase, which started in 2022 and ended in April 2025.

Here are the new lines of action of PEACE+
Starting with the good practices and results of the previous phase, and thanks to the close cooperation between all partners, PEACE+ now aims to extend its scope by mapping, developing and integrating local networks of Erasmus+ actors. On the one hand, the project’s actions include the implementation and development of training modules and resources on EU values and European citizenship. On the other hand, the project wants to increase the number of communication, information and dissemination activities (in the media and in the social network world), both of the joint projects organized through synergy among the various Erasmus+ National Agencies, and of those that originate at the local or national level, but can serve as good examples for other EU countries. The main actions of the PEACE+ project also include a strengthening of scientific research activities on various topics related to civic engagement, made possible by a group of academic professors.
A new PEACE+ website will soon be online
Among its various initiatives, the PEACE+ project will also have a dedicated website, independent from the Erasmusplus.it web pages, which will be launched during the second half of 2025. The aim of the new PEACE+ website, characterised by content in English, is to encompass all the initiatives and projects, recounting the present and future objectives, but also to bring together in a single platform, accessible, intuitive and editable by all the Partner Agencies, the materials that have characterised the project since its inception.
