Dal 3 al 5 aprile scorsi Siviglia ha ospitato la conferenza TCA “Civic participation and EU values. Make Europe shine!“ organizzata da SEPIE Servicio Español para la Internacionalización de la Educación, l’Agenzia nazionale spagnola Erasmus+ (leggi l’articolo di sintesi su questo sito).
Più di 150 partecipanti, insegnanti, educatori, ambasciatori ed ex studenti Erasmus+ e personale delle agenzie nazionali di 20 paesi diversi hanno lavorato insieme, guidati da esperti e ricercatori nell’ambito delle scienze politiche e sociali, per confrontarsi sui temi dell’impegno civico e dei valori europei e sul ruolo che Erasmus sta svolgendo nel veicolarli e rafforzarli.
Poi, passando dalla teoria alla pratica, tra le attività del seminario TCA, quella di disseminazione “Erasmus goes to town” si è svolta la mattina del 5 aprile quando le delegazioni internazionali hanno visitato 15 scuole e centri educativi a Siviglia per condividere e ascoltare storie dalle esperienze Erasmus+ impegnandosi in un dialogo sulla cittadinanza europea con gli studenti. Le scuole coinvolte sono state: IES Martínez Montañés, IES Punta del Verde, CDP Religiosas Calasancias, IES Federico Mayor Zaragoza , IES Nervión, IES Santa Aurelia, Colegio Antonio Machado, Direttore CPEE Mercedes Sanromá, IES Murillo , Colegio Concertado Las Artes, CEIP Tomás de Ybarra, CEPR SAR Infanta Leonor, IES Néstor Almendros, IES Juan Ciudad Duarte, IES Los Alamos.
La partecipazione di tutti i delegati, la curiosità e l’interazione con gli studenti sono state molto elevate. Altrettanto palpabile, tra timidezza e incertezze nell’uso della lingua, è stata l’energia e la vivacità che, dai più piccoli ai più grandi, gli studenti hanno trasmesso alle delegazioni. Di seguito alcune segnalazioni raccolte negli istituti coinvolti dove il gruppo era accompagnato dai membri dell’Agenzia Erasmus+ INDIRE.

IES Punta del Verde
La delegazione dei partecipanti al seminario TCA in visita all’IES Punta del Verde era composta da un gruppo di 8 persone provenienti da paesi diversi e con profili molto diversi. Il gruppo è stato accolto calorosamente dai presidi e da un gruppo di insegnanti dell’entusiasta team Erasmus+ della scuola e l’incontro si è svolto nella colorata biblioteca della scuola dove gli studenti ci aspettavano. L’IES Punta del Verde è un istituto professionale che conta quasi 1600 studenti, opera nella dimensione europea sin dal precedente Programma (Comenius); ora è accreditato e promuove la mobilità didattica di studenti e insegnanti, con particolare attenzione all’inclusione degli studenti con bisogni speciali, come emerso dalle testimonianze dirette di due alunni che ci hanno raccontato la loro esperienza in Portogallo, aiutati da due compagni di scuola che traducono in inglese. Dopo le presentazioni e alcune storie Erasmus, si è svolto un vivace scambio libero in tante lingue diverse, con caffè, bevande e biscotti che hanno consentito un’atmosfera non formale.
Insegnanti e studenti ci hanno portati in gruppi più piccoli a visitare diverse aree della scuola, entrando nelle classi e facendo domande e alla fine ci siamo incontrati nell’atrio e un gruppo di studenti ha fatto a tutti noi un regalo: una tazza fatta e dipinta a mano realizzata da un gruppo di alunni con bisogni speciali

CDP Religiosas Calasancias
La delegazione che ha visitato il Colegio Concertado Religiosas Calasancias era composta da docenti di scuole provenienti da Italia, Austria, Lituania, Polonia, Svezia e Polonia. All’arrivo, un gruppo di alunni dai 3 ai 16 anni ha organizzato un momento di benvenuto molto partecipato, cui è seguita la visita agli ambienti dell’istituto e la presentazione delle attività Erasmus, delle mobilità di lungo periodo e gli incontri di progetto, realizzate dallo staff e dagli alunni. Nella seconda parte della visita una giovane alunna dell’istituto si è esibita al violoncello, è seguito quindi un dibattito interattivo e stimolante, con piccoli gruppi di alunni del Colegio che hanno coinvolto i docenti in visita in un dialogo dinamico attorno ai temi dei valori europei, l’appartenenza all’Ue, e sui benefici derivati dalle esperienze di cooperazione e mobilità della scuola, degli insegnanti e degli alunni stessi in termini di crescita personale. Grazie al dirigente scolastico, gli insegnanti e gli alunni del Concertado Religiosas Calasancias per l’accoglienza calorosa e i momenti piacevoli della visita.
IES Federico Mayor Zaragoza
La visita all’Istituto de Educación Secundaria (IES) Federico Mayor Zaragoza a Siviglia, la mattina del 5 aprile, ha visto la partecipazione di oltre una decina di partecipanti al TCA e rappresentanti di diversi paesi europei, con differenti ruoli. L’incontro si è aperto con la presentazione da parte dei docenti della scuola che, tra le attività del mattino e quelle pomeridiane, accoglie circa 800 studenti. In un breve discorso, i docenti hanno parlato in generale del funzionamento del sistema educativo spagnolo, entrando poi nello specifico delle attività VET dell’Istituto e dei vari progetti Erasmus+. La visita è poi proseguita all’interno delle aule, in particolar modo nei laboratori di chimica e biomedica, in quelli di telecomunicazioni e di computer system o in quelli di ambito medico, per formare esperti in emergenze sanitarie e assistenza materna ausiliaria. Spazio poi a un incontro con gli studenti, che, dopo aver chiesto ai partecipanti della delegazione di presentarsi, hanno rivolto loro diverse domande sul significato dell’Unione Europea e sui valori più importanti per ognuno. I partecipanti alla TCA hanno a loro volta chiesto ai ragazzi la conoscenza e il significato dell’Unione Europea. In chiusura, spazio a una foto di gruppo con la delegazione e i docenti davanti ad un coloratissimo murales negli spazi esterni dell’Istituto.
IES Santa Aurelia
La Dirigente scolastica insieme al suo staff ha accolto con calore e entusiasmo travolgente la delegazione internazionale TCA composta da 9 persone, iniziando la visita dal giardino dell’IES Santa Aurelia, spiegando che l’offerta formativa è molto attenta allo sviluppo delle emozioni e di sentimenti positivi negli alunni, la maggior parte di età compresa tra 12 e 16 anni. Ha condotto poi il gruppo in visita, rappresentanti da Germania, Austria, Francia, Slovacchia, Spagna, Italia e Turchia, nelle aule durante la lezione per mostrare in pratica il sistema educativo spagnolo, con un passaggio anche nell’aula dedicata agli studenti con particolari disabilità cognitive. Dopo il caffè e degli ottimi biscotti fatti in casa si è parlato di Erasmus e si sono messe a confronto le culture europee in un dialogo informale in cui sono state presentate le mobilità della scuola (accreditata Erasmus e certificata eTwinning School). Gli studenti hanno condiviso alcune storie e impressioni (in inglese) sia quelli che sono già stati all’estero che quelli pronti a partire. Hanno poi fatto domande agli stranieri in visita sui loro paesi e sulle differenze significative tra nord e sud scoprendo che la percezione delle reciproche differenze varia da paese a paese. L’incontro si è concluso con lo scambio di contatti tra docenti per possibili future collaborazioni internazionali. All’appassionato gruppo di insegnanti che con il massimo impegno promuove la partecipazione attiva all’Erasmus in una scuola situata in un quartiere difficile della città, sono andati gli applausi sinceri dalla nostra delegazione in visita.
Colegio Antonio Machado
La visita presso il Colegio Antonio Machado ha rappresentato un’intensa occasione di scambio e riflessioni. Gli alunni dell’istituto comprensivo hanno guidato la delegazione internazionale in un ottimo inglese: l’istituto è bilingue! Partecipa con successo da anni sia alle opportunità di scambio e formazione offerte dalla piattaforma E-twinning che alla mobilità degli alunni e dei docenti in ambito Erasmus+ per il settore scuola. Gli accordi in essere sono concentrati da tempo, con profitto e soddisfazione, in Italia ma l’occasione di incontro, con docenti da Austria, Belgio e Repubblica Ceca, è stata certamente un primo allargamento delle prospettive di collaborazione. Docenti e discenti hanno confermato la straordinaria opportunità offerta dallo scambio internazionale per accrescere la curiosità e la voglia di imparare, per integrare e affinare le metodologie didattiche, per proiettarsi in una dimensione europea, per rafforzare l’inclusione, per discutere temi attuali come la sostenibilità ambientale e la trasformazione digitale.

Erasmus goes to town! Visiting schools in Seville to spread EU values with PEACE
From 3rd to 5th April, Seville hosted the TCA (training cooperation activity) seminar “Civic participation and EU values. Make Europe shine!” organized by SEPIE Servicio Español para la Internacionalización de la Educación, the Spanish Erasmus+ National Agency (read the article on this site).
More than 150 participants, teachers, educators, ambassadors and former Erasmus+ students and staff from National Agencies, coming from 20 different countries, worked together, led by experts and researchers in political and social sciences, to discuss issues of civic engagement and of European values and the role that Erasmus is playing in conveying and strengthening them.
Then, from theory to practice, Among the activities of the TCA seminar, the dissemination activity “Erasmus goes to town” took place the 5th April morning when international delegations visited 15 schools and educational centers in Seville to share stories, experiences, Erasmus+ opportunities and engage in a dialogue about European citizenship. The schools involved were: IES Martínez Montañés, IES Punta del Verde, CDP Religiosas Calasancias, IES Federico Mayor Zaragoza, IES Nervión, IES Santa Aurelia, Colegio Antonio Machado, CPEE Directora Mercedes Sanromá, IES Murillo, Colegio Concertado Las Artes, CEIP Tomás de Ybarra, CEPR SAR Infanta Leonor, IES Néstor Almendros, IES Juan Ciudad Duarte, IES Los Alamos.
Student participation, curiosity and interaction were very high. The energy and liveliness that all of them, from the very early age to the oldest, gave to the delegations was equally vibrant. IES Punta del Verde
The TCA participants delegation that visited IES Punta del Verde was a group of 8 people from different countries and with very different profiles. The group was warmly welcome by the headmasters and a group of teachers of the school’s enthusiastic Erasmus+ team and the meeting took place in the colourful school library where students were waiting for us. IES Punta del Verde is a vocational institute which counts almost 1600 students, it has been working in European dimension since previous Programme (Comenius); now it has Accreditation and promotes learning mobility of students and teachers, with particular attention to inclusion of special needs students as came out from direct testimonies of two pupils that told us about their experience in Portugal, helped by two school mates translating in English. Following the presentations and some Erasmus stories, a free animated exchange took place in many different languages, with a coffee, drinks and biscuits that allowed non formal.
Teachers and students led us in smaller groups to visit different areas of the school, entering classes and asking questions and in the end we met in the hall and a group of students gave us all a present: a hand made and hand painted mug made by a group of the special needs pupils

CDP Religiosas Calasancias
The delegation that visited the Colegio Concertado Religiosas Calasancias was composed by teachers from schools from Italy, Austria, Lithuania, Poland and Sweden. Upon arrival, a group of pupils aged 3 to 16 organised a very well attended welcome moment, followed by a visit to the interior and exterior of the institute and a presentation in English of the Erasmus activities, long-term mobility and project meetings carried out by the staff and pupils. In the second part of the visit, a young pupil of the institute performed on the cello, followed by an interactive and stimulating debate, with small groups of Colegio pupils involving the visiting teachers in a dynamic dialogue around the themes of European values, belonging to the EU, and on the benefits derived from the cooperation and mobility experiences of the school, the teachers and the pupils themselves in terms of personal growth.
IES Federico Mayor Zaragoza
The visit to the Istituto de Educación Secundaria (IES) Federico Mayor Zaragoza in Seville, on the morning of April 5, saw the participation of over ten TCA participants and representatives from different European countries, with different position. The meeting opened with a presentation by the teachers of the school, which includes around 800 students between the morning and afternoon activities. In a short speech, the teachers spoke in general about the functioning of the Spanish education system, then going into detail about the VET activities of the Institute and the various Erasmus+ projects. The visit then continued inside the classrooms, in particular in the chemistry and biomedical laboratories, in the telecommunications and computer system laboratories or in those in the medical field, to train experts in Health emergencies and Auxiliary nursery care. Then, there was a meeting with the students, who, after asking the delegation participants to introduce themselves, asked them various questions about the meaning of the European Union and the most important values for each one. The TCA participants asked also the children about their knowledge and meaning of the European Union. Finally, there was space for a group picture with the delegation and teachers in front of a colorful wall painting in the external spaces of the Institute.
IES Santa Aurelia
The school principal together with her staff welcomed the international TCA delegation of 9 people with warmth and enthralling enthusiasm, starting the visit from the IES Santa Aurelia‘s garden, explaining that the educational offer is very attentive to the development of emotions and good feelings in activities for their students aged 12 – 16. Delegates from Germany, Austria, France, Slovakia, Spain, Italy and Turkey were accompanied into the classrooms during the lesson to have a more direct understanding of the education system, including for special needs students. After coffee and excellent home made biscuits we talked about Erasmus and compared European cultures in an informal dialogue where the school’s mobilities were presented (Erasmus accredited and eTwinning School certified), the studented shared some stories and impressions (in English) those who have already been abroad and those ready to move. Questions from students to visiting foreigners about their own countries, and differences from North to South, revealed that the Mediterranean countries are perceived very different from each other from the perspective of Nordic countries. The meeting ended with the exchange of contacts between teachers for possible future international collaborations. The passionate group of teachers, who with the utmost commitment promote active participation in Erasmus in a school located in a difficult neighborhood of the city, received great applause from our visiting delegation.
Colegio Antonio Machado
The visit to the Colegio Antonio Machado represented an intense opportunity for exchange and reflection. The pupils of the comprehensive school led the international delegation and presented their institution in a fluid English: the school is bilingual! For years now, it has successfully participated both in the exchange and training opportunities offered by the E-twinning platform and in the mobility of pupils and teachers in the Erasmus+ frame for the school sector. The existing agreements have been concentrated for some time now in Italy, with profit and satisfaction, but this meeting opportunity, with teachers from Austria, Belgium and the Czech Republic, was certainly a first broadening of the collaboration prospects. Teachers and students confirmed the extraordinary opportunity offered by international exchanges in the framework of the Erasmus+ Programme to increase curiosity and the desire to learn, to integrate and update teaching methodologies, to project themselves into a European dimension, to strengthen inclusion, to discuss current issues such as green sustainability and digital transformation.
